Riviera Beach owns the county's only deep inlet
Lake Worth Inlet — the Palm Beach Inlet — sits at Riviera Beach and is the reason this city's boat traffic is unlike anywhere else in Palm Beach County. It is jettied, dredged and maintained for commercial traffic into the Port of Palm Beach, which means it does not shoal shut the way the sand inlets north and south of it do. Boats too big for the Boca or Boynton inlets come here instead.
Deep water removes one failure mode and adds another. Riviera Beach boats bend fewer skegs than Jupiter or Boca boats. They also run offshore harder and more often, because the inlet is passable in conditions that close the others. High real running hours, not idle hours, is the local pattern — and that pulls scheduled service forward. A 100-hour service at $799 per engine for a 150–200 HP outboard arrives faster on a boat that actually gets used.
Ship traffic and inlet current add a third item: props and gearcases take a beating from running a loaded boat against 3–4 knots of outgoing tide, and clutch dogs wear from shifting in that current.
Peanut Island, the Blue Heron Bridge, and sand where you least expect it
The inlet is deep, but the water inside it is not uniformly so. Peanut Island's sandbar is one of the busiest weekend raft-ups in the county, and boats spend hours anchored in inches of moving sand with engines trimmed up and occasionally started. Phil Foster Park, under the Blue Heron Bridge, is a heavily used public ramp and one of the best-known shore-dive sites in Florida, which puts a very high volume of trailer boats through a shallow, sandy, current-swept basin.
Both facts point at the same repair. Sand drawn through a raw-water pickup scores the water pump housing, and a new impeller in a scored housing fails again quickly. Our water pump and impeller service is $250–$450 per engine with OEM impeller and housing, because doing the impeller alone on a sandbar boat is selling the same job twice.
Shallow-water strikes in that basin also produce the other Riviera Beach staple: lower unit work, $350–$600 for a pressure-tested seal kit and gear oil, $800–$2,500 for a full rebuild.

The extended-interval 200/300-hour service matters more in Riviera Beach than anywhere else in the county, because these are the boats that get there.
Next-day window, Saturday coverage, and a written record
Riviera Beach is Tier 2: next-day response window, under the written commitment that a technician is at the boat within 24 hours or the trip fee is waived. Hours are Monday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with emergency weekend coverage by text to 561-312-7308.
Every job produces a photo-documented digital service record — ECU engine hours, part numbers, torque specs, before-and-after photos — emailed and texted before we leave the dock. One technician,, performs the work, so the file is continuous. How it works covers the process end to end.
Membership: Logbook $39/month or $399/year; Standard $79/month or $899/year with the 100-hour service, mid-year inspection, diagnostic waived and 10% off parts and labor; Premium $129/month or $1,499/year adding quarterly inspections, weekend and after-hours response, an annual detail and a sea-trial check. Additional engine +$39/month. Memberships transfer with the boat at sale — a real consideration in a city where hulls turn over constantly.
Questions Riviera Beach owners ask
How fast can you get to Riviera Beach? Riviera Beach is a Tier 2 city with a next-day response window. The written guarantee is a technician at the boat within 24 hours or the trip fee is waived. Call or text 561-312-7308 Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekend emergencies are handled by text, which is relevant here — Peanut Island weekends generate Sunday problems.
Do you charge more to come to Riviera Beach? No. Published prices are flat countywide. A 100-hour service on a 250 HP outboard is $1,089 per engine at Marina Village, at a Singer Island dock, and at a driveway in Boca Raton. There is no mileage charge, trip surcharge or travel line on the invoice.
Do you work on boats at Riviera Beach Marina Village? Yes, we work on boats kept there — 170 municipal wet slips. We do not claim vendor approval or preferred-vendor status at Marina Village or any other facility. You arrange the gate pass or dockmaster notification; we carry the marine liability insurance documentation marinas ask for and will send the certificate directly to the dockmaster.
Why do I keep needing impellers when the inlet is deep? Because the damage is not happening in the inlet. It happens anchored on the Peanut Island bar and idling around the Phil Foster ramp basin, where the water is shallow and the sand is moving. Grit through the pump scores the housing, and an impeller in a scored housing loses its seal within a season. Replacing housing and wear plate with the impeller is why our price is $250–$450 rather than a parts-only number.
My boat has 900 hours. Is it still worth servicing or should I repower? Get the $149 diagnostic first — compression, live data and fault codes, with a written cause. That number tells you whether you are looking at maintenance, a lower unit, or an engine at end of life. If the answer is a repower financed through the manufacturer, that goes to an authorized dealer, and we will say so. We are an independent operator and do not do OEM-financed repowers or warranty claims.
Can you service a charter or dive boat that runs every day? Yes, and the extended-interval 200/300-hour service from $1,200 per engine exists for exactly those boats. High-hour commercial-pattern use also makes the Premium membership at $129/month reasonable — quarterly inspections catch the wear items before a cancelled charter does it for you.
