North Palm Beach boats run south down the lagoon and out Lake Worth Inlet at Riviera Beach: jettied, dredged, deep, and used by ship traffic into the Port of Palm Beach. Unlike the sand inlets to the north and south, it does not routinely bend skegs or feed grit into water pumps.
What it does is put a long, current-swept, no-wake transit between your dock and the ocean. Boats accumulate idle hours faster than running hours. That fouls plugs, loads carbon on four-stroke valves, and hides a lazy thermostat until the first wide-open run. The hour meter also overstates real work and understates idle abuse — which is why our standard diagnostic reads ECU data rather than the dash gauge.
