What a service call at Palm Beach Yacht Center actually looks like
Eighty-four wet slips is a mid-size dock plan, and that works in a mobile technician's favor. Tools come down on one cart trip, and the walk to the transom is measured in yards rather than the quarter-mile push a 250-slip resort marina demands. Every extra hundred feet of dock is another trip back for a tool you did not think you needed.
In a wet slip the lower unit is submerged, so a water pump job or a seal kit means trimming the engine up and working over the transom from the finger pier. Tell us the slip layout when you book — bow-in, stern-in or side-tie — it changes the tool plan before the truck loads. The truck runs its own power either way, so a charging-system test does not wait on an outlet.
Getting on the property, and the insurance paperwork
AquaRepair Marine is an independent mobile operator and is not on an approved-vendor list at Palm Beach Yacht Center or any other facility. Stating that plainly saves everyone a conversation at the gate.
The slip holder arranges the gate pass or notifies the dockmaster that a contractor is coming — usually a call or an email to the marina office the day before. AquaRepair carries the liability coverage marinas ask for and will send a certificate of insurance directly to the office on request; give us the office email when you book. Some Palm Beach County marinas require contractors to be listed in advance, some want a COI on file annually, and some ask nothing.
What Hypoluxo water does to these engines
The Intracoastal is the other half. The run between Hypoluxo and the inlet is idle-speed, manatee-zone water. Engines that spend most of their hours near 900 RPM carbon up, charge poorly and foul plugs, and nothing shows until the boat is asked to plane against a chop. That is why charging and electrical faults and hard-starting fuel system complaints are the two most common calls off this water.
